Absence and decay in contemporary photography
Out of play photo It is a personal website, an essential and rigorous editorial space dedicated to contemporary photographic research. The website does not merely present images, but constructs an environment for slow reading, where each project is conceived as an autonomous conceptual unit, composed of visual sequences, critical texts, and theoretical reflections.
The project is at the heart of the work OUT OF PLAY, and more generally a search related to entropic minimalisman approach that investigates failure, absence, verification and limitation as structural elements of the image. The photographs avoid narrative emphasis and any form of spectacularisation; instead, they show marginal spaces, secondary objects, traces and remnants, allowing a sense of suspension and loss of function to emerge.
The website is built with a restrained, almost neutral visual language that reflects the poetics of the work: ample white space, discreet typography, linear navigation. The user experience is designed not to interfere with the images, but to accompany them, encouraging careful and meditative appreciation. The texts do not explain the photographs, but open up interpretive possibilities, connecting the work to the history of conceptual photography, minimalist thinking, and reflections on entropy and the “off-screen”.
